"Mijo" is the Spanish word for mi hijo — my son. It is the name a grandmother uses when she calls her grandchild close. Chef Enrique Moreno named this restaurant for two women: one Spanish, one Chinese. Both extraordinary cooks.

Their influence is in every plate that leaves the kitchen. The croquetas carry the Spanish grandmother's patience. The slow-braised mains carry the Chinese one's precision. And somewhere between the sisig tacos and aligue gambas is the Filipino kitchen that shaped them both.
